PUBLIC NOTICES ASHLEY COUNTY COUNCIL IN THE MATTER of the “Counties Act, 1956,’’ the “Rating Act, 1925” and amendments thereto: PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Ashley County Council at an Ordinary Meeting held on May 3, 1967, prepared and approved an estimate pursuant to Section 106 (2) of the "Counties Act, 1956,” showing for the period of twelve months, commencing on April 1. 1967, and ending on March 31, 1968: (1) The proposed expenditure of the said Council:— £ (a) On administration . 2,965 (b) On county roads and bridges . 25,700 (c) On other public works .. 5,215 £33,880 (2) Monies available for the above purposes are:— (a) From credit balance April 1, 1967 2,658 (b) From rents, subsidies, rate arrears, etc. . 13,123 (c) From licence fees, commissions, etc. 1,455 £17,236 (3) The additional sum required is £16,644. (4) The total capital rateable value of all property on the valuation rolls of the County of Ashley is £2,905,205. ($5,810,410). (5) The general rate thereon necessary to raise the sum required is One and Threeeighths of a Penny (lid) in the pound (£) (or decimal five-seven-three cents (.573 cents) in the dollar). PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that it is the intention of the Ashley County Council at its next Ordinary Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Loburn, on Thursday, June 1, 1967, at 1 P.M. to make and levy a General Rate of One and Three-eighths of a Penny (lid) in the pound (£) (or decimal five-seven-three cents (.573 cents) in the dollar) on the capital rateable value of all property appearing on the valuation rolls of the County of Ashley: and such rates as the North Canterbury Catchment Board shall direct the Ashley County Council to collect on its behalf on that part of the County as is within the Board's district. Such rates shall be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1967, and shall be due and payable in one sum on the 31st day of August, 1967, at the County Office, Loburn, where the valuation rolls are open for inspection during office hours.
