KENNEDY INQUIRY

C.LA. Accused By Garrison (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter) NEW ORLEANS, May 9. The New Orleans District Attorney, Mr Jim Garrison, has accused Central Intelligence Agency agents of concealing vital knowledge about the assassination of President Kennedy, a New Orleans newspaper reported today. In an interview with Mr Garrison, who is conducting his own investigation into the assassination, the New Orleans “States-Item” quoted him as saying that the C.I.A. knew all along that the Warren Commission conclusion—that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing President Kennedy—was untrue.

The newspaper said Mr Garrison would seek a full-scale United States Senate probe into the C.LA.’s role in the Warren Commission investigation.

It quoted him as saying: “The Federal agents concealed vital knowledge regarding President Kennedy’s assassination, and their superiors, who are now engaged in a dedicated effort to discredit and obstruct the gathering of evidence in the case, are guil ty of being accessories after the fact to one of the cruelest murders in our history.”
