Redcraze ‘One Of Greatest’ Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) SYDNEY. “Redcraze? He was an amazing hone.” Those were the leading Sydney trainer, T. J. Smith’s first words when told today of the death of the great New Zealand-bred stayer. Smith, the man who trained Redcraze during his tremendous racing period in Australia, added: “He was a great stayer, and one who waa not affected by weight. “I would have loved to have had him as a two-year-old, and I just don't know what heights he would have reached.”

Smith said Redcraze was “one of the greatest.” He said he would always bracket him with Tulloch when talking of great horses he has had in his stable. Smith said he was very sorry to hear of Redcraze’s death.
