Promoting Wool

Part of the entertainment at the World Ploughing Contest on Saturday will be a pageant called “The History of Wool,” which will be presented by the Wool Board and compered by its field director, Mr G. Bowen. In this pageant rams of a number of different breeds are brought on to the stage. Mr Bowen gives some details of their history and describes the fabrics for which the wool from these breeds is most suitable and garments made from some of these types of wool are then modelled.

It is also expected that Mr Bowen will give a shearing demonstration during the day.

Tomorrow there will be a mannequin parade staged by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association. It will show . wool garments and these will be modelled by four women and two men.
