How To Get There
For the benefit of motorists travelling to the world ploughing contest and New Zealand championships this week the Transport Department has supplied the following directions and the accompanying map: Traffic from North Canterbury areas: Travel to ploughing area via Main North road, Johns road, Russley road, Carmen road, Shands road, Robinsons road. Traffic from Christchurch: Motorways corner via Springs road, and directed if necessary on to the LincolnPrebbleton road. Traffic from South: Turn off on to first road on right after crossing the Rakaia bridge or turn right off Main South road on to Weedons road. Traffic from West Cross Main South road on to Weedon road, continue to Springs road. Motorists are requested to obey the directions of the traffic officer on point duty. This will allow quicker movement of cars to and from the area.
