PART of the traditional procedure at all national ploughing championships in New Zealand has been a church service on the day before the contest at which the Atlantic Silver Plough, the main trophy for the event has been dedicated. This afternoon at 5.15 a service will be held in Christchurch Cathedral at which both the Atlantic Silver Plough and the Golden Plough, the main trophy for the world contest, will be dedicated. The Atlantic Silver Plough will be dedicated by the Dean of Christchurch,

the Very Rev. M. Underhill, and the Golden Plough by the Rev. W. S. Dawson, minister of Durham street Methodist Church, who will also preach the sermon. Lessons at the service will be read by the president of the World Ploughing Organisation, Mr W. Feuerlein, and by the secretary of the New Zealand Ploughing Association, Mr R. A. Triggs. In honour of the occasion the Christchurch Cathedral Society of Bellringers will ring changes on the full ring of 10 bells under the leadership of the Master, Mr R. H. Idle. '
