AUSTRALIA

Leonard J. Clark (Monomeith, Victoria): Aged 39 years, Clark is a farmer and agricultural contractor with an interest in a 130 acres grazing property. He has been state ploughing champion twice and national champion twice and represented Australia in the world ploughing contests in 1962 and 1964.

Peter Herbert Anderson (Camden, New South

Wales): Anderson is a dairy farmer on a property of 450 acres. The farm carries Friesian cattle and grows lucerne for hay and potatoes. He was national champion in 1964. Aged 25 years, he is active in church work. He is a lay preacher and youth leader.

GREAT BRITAIN

Philip Skyrme (Gelhenfield, Clehonger, Hereford): Skyrme is aged 33 years. He farms 130 acres producing wheat, sugar beet, potatoes, mangolds, kale and grass and running Friesian cows. In 16 years of competitive ploughing he has won many prizes. Among his interests is Young Farmers’ Club work.

T. Haymond Goodwin (Coedcowyn, Llanynis, Builth Wells, Breconshire, Wales): Aged 25 years he had ploughed since he was 11 and has won many prizes In competitive ploughing. He is a farmer’s son. The farm is of 72 acres and grows barley, oats, kale and swedes, as well as running Hereford cattle and Clun and Suffolk sheep.

HUNGARY

Jozsef Dupcsak (Petoflutca, Halmajugra): A collective farmer, he is aged 47 years. The farm on which he works Is of 2000 acres and grows maize, wheat, potatoes, lucerne, and has vines. Dupcsak represented his country in the world contest in 1965.

HOLLAND

Klaas Eelman, (Hoeve “Noordwijk,” Oosterend, Texel): A farmer, aged 28 years, Eelman has competed in ploughing matches since he was 15 years old and has been three times national champion. He represented his country in world contests in 1956 and 1964.

' Gerrit Zwaal (Bhoon): Zwaal is a farmer and farm machinery dealer aged 29 years. Mixed fruit production is undertaken on the farm of 97 acres. NTH. IRELAND Thomas J. Barr (Stranmillis, Belfast): Aged 58 years, Barr is a chauffeur. He has competed in ploughing competitions since 1954

John A. Barr (Curragh, Aghadowey, Coleraine, County Londonderry): A farmer aged 43 years. On a 90-acres property he grows barley and potatoes and produces hay and runs beef

cattle. Large White pigs and sheep and poultry. He represented Northern Ireland in

world contests in 1959 and 1963. He was a member of the Northern Ireland tug-o’-war team which competed in the European championships in London in 1965.

NORWAY

Gunnar Hersleth (Valer 1 Ostfold): Hersleth is a farmer’s son aged 21 years. The farm of 125 acres grows small grain and barley and Norwegian Landrace pigs are carried. He is leader of the local rural youth club.
