DEBUTANTES AT ANGLICAN BALL

Fifteen debutante* were presented to the Bishop of Christchurch (the Right Rev. W. A. Pyatt) and Mrs Pyatt by the wife of the Dean of Christchurch (Mr* M. L. Underhill) at the Anglican Ball in the Winter Garden last evening.

Massed arrangements of autumn-toned chrysanthemum* decorated the foyer and the ballroom. Potted plants adorned the supper room and hanging plants festooned the dance room.

Miss Cornyns Thomas trained the debutantes. Mrs A. Pyatt wore a turquoise chiffon frock, cut on Grecian lines, with a draped bodice. Mrs M. Underhill wore a dark blue velvet skirt with a pale blue lurex bodice, cut in a deep V-back and front.

Miss E. Cornyns Thomas's gown of electric-blue satin was cut on straight lines.
