House Brings £5200
A house converted into two self-contained flats on a section of 39.2 perches at 48 Winchester street, Merivale, was sold for £5200 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of the estate of V. J. Stevens by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr D. Chapman. One flat is vacant, and the other furnished flat is let at £7 a week. The Government valuation is £4050.
The opening bid was £4500. There were six bids of £lOO, and two of £5O. A weatherboard bungalow and a garage on a section of 39.5 perches at 81 Studholme street, Somerfield, was passed in at £2250. The property was offered on account of the estate of Charlotte Marie Miller by Binns, Barber, and Keenan, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan.
The house has a livingroom, dining-room, two bedrooms, sunroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry.
