(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON. J. Charlton, the Leeds United and England centrehalf, has been voted Britain’s “Footballer of the Year.” He beat his World Cup team-mate, G. Hurst, of West Ham, by two votes in the annual poll by the Football Writers’ Association. Charlton and Hurst dominated the poll with 70 per cent of the votes cast. Last year the winner was his brother, R. Charlton, of Manchester United and England.
