Auckland Has Winning Spell

In . three minutes—from the fifty-sixth to the fifty-eighth— Auckland assured itself of victory against Wellington in a Rugby League match at Carlaw Park on Saturday. The home side won, 29-14 Auckland was ahead 7-4 at half-time and had gone to 9-4 immediately after the resumption, but Wellington had struck back with a try and a conversion to put the teams level. However, Auckland stepped up the pace, scored two converted tries and dominated the game thereafter.

For Auckland, G. Brown (2), D. Ellwood, R. Carey and O. Danielson scored tries. R. B. Tait kicked four penalties and three T. Watene kicked two penalties and converted the tries of N. Berl and C. Daveson for Wellington.
