Locking Up At Station

The only activity at the Christchurch Railway Station at 12.15 a.m. today was an employee locking up public amenities. The shunting yards were deserted and no locomotives were in sight. Many of the waggons in the yards contained goods. Luggage trolleys were left standing on the platform. The station was in darkness.

There was no rail-car to Greymouth at 2 a.m.
