N.Z. Soccer XIs Chosen

The New Zealand senior and under-23 soccer teams, to play Manchester United and Scotland, respectively, will probably be named either today or Tuesday, Mr G. L. Whyte, vice-chairman of the New Zealand Football Association, said yesterday. The national selectors (Messrs G. Smith, Canterbury, and D. Wallace, Auckland) saw their final matches in Wellington at the week-end, the final part of a nationwide tour over the last month. They have made their selections and the teams are now in tie hands of the N.Z.F.A. The senior eleven will play Manchester United at Christchurch on Wednesday, May 31, and the under-23s will meet Scotland at Hutt on June 5.
