‘OPERATION FOUL-UP’
Navy Borrows R.A.F. Boat (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HOLYHEAD (Wales), May 7. The Royal Navy yesterday hid its face in shame over what may go down in naval annals as “operation foul-up.” The Navy received a tip on Friday that Belgian and French trawlers were fishing in British waters off the northern coast of Wales. The Navy learned in dismay that it had no ships in the area, and had to borrow one from the Air Force. Then it was discovered that there were no sailors were in the area either, and the Navy had to send a squad by land to Holyhead, to man the borrowed boat*
