The CHIEF APPRAISER will be required to coordinate the Group’s wool appraisement work, and the collection throughout New Zealand of wool samples for measurement. He will also be required in the early stages to oversee and participate in wool sample collection throughout the South Island. He must be able to co-operate with wool interests throughout New Zealand, particularly wool brokers, and be able to learn, understand and discuss the importance of objective wool measurements to the future trading of New Zealand wools. The SENIOR APPRAISER will be responsible for overseeing and participating in wool appraisement work, and the collection of wool samples for measurement throughout the North Island. An ability to understand the significance of wool measurements to the wool trade will be expected. Applicants for the above positions must have had considerable experience in wool-classing, wool sorting and wool appraisal techniques in New Zealand. Knowledge of binning, reclassing and wool store practice is also a necessary requirement Knowledge and experi-ence-in wool buying and the textile trade would be an added advantage.
