Mr A. Kirkpatrick, of Hastings, has been appointed chancellor-elect of the Order of St John in New Zealand. He will succeed Mr H. L. Paterson, of Dunedin, in June. This is,the highest executive position in the order in New Zealand. Sir Andrew Linton, chairman of the Dairy Board, will leave on Monday to lead a delegation from the board to Japan. Mr R. I. Peace, the president of the Fruit Retailers’ Association, left .for Australia this week to study the marketing system of the Australian Apple and Pear Marketing Board. Mr V. A. Langford has been awarded a Woolworth’s bursary at the University of Canterbury for 1967. Mr Langford is a third-year bachelor of commerce student
