ARMBRO DEL
Arrival At Templeton The American-bred stallion, Armbro Del, has arrived at the Templeton property of G. Holmes, who purchased him to replace the New Zealand*-bred horse, Morano, which died a few months ago. Armbro Del is one of the first sons of Tar Heel, one of the leading sires of racing stock and brood mares tn the United States, to stand in the Christchurch district. Sons of Tar Heel have done well at the stud in America, one of them, Thorpe Hanover, being the sire of Tarport Lib, which took a record of Imin 56 2-ssec at three years.
Armbro Del is only a »lx-year-old. He had one start at two years and was Injured in a hind leg. He had four starts at four years, but the injury gave further trouble. He showed considerable ability, and wae beaten by a nose In a race In which the winner recorded 2:2 1-5.
By Tar Heel (1:57) he Is cut of Adios Helen (2:2 1-5), by Adios from Helen Win, the dam of Adios Harry (1:55), the winner of 345,438 dollars, and Noble Adios (1:59 1-5), the winner of 138,919 dollars. Both Adios Harry and Noble Adios were winners of the Little Brown Jug. Helen Win also left Adios Martha, the dam of Clay (1:58 4-5), and Sand Tart (1:59 4-5). Armbro Del was bred by the Armstrong brothers who sold him for 22,000 dollars as a yearling.
