FIDELIS WINS
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Auckland sloop, Fidelis, reached Noumea about 6 o’clock last evening to win line honours in the ocean yacht race from Whangarei, it was learned unofficially at Auckland. It was reported that the Fidelis first failed to cross the finish line correctly and was required to do so.
It was also reported that nearly four hours later the Kahurangi, Carmen and Sirius were 68 miles from the line, with the Pandora a further 64 miles astern of these three.
