Mid-week rain has softened the going, making it right to Gold Chick's Icking. Honestly and Dee Dee look the hardest for him to beat in the first leg of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s T.A.6. double.

Red Count is picked to win the Flying Thousand, the second leg of the double. Odeon, Jackaboy and Kurrewa should also run well. Selections:—
