FIJI AIR SERVICE

Plan By N.Z. Coy. (N.Z. Press Association) SUVA, April 13. . A New Zealand group headed by Mr O. A. James, of James Aviation, Ltd., may start a new air service in Fiji soon. Representatives of the group discussed their proposals this week with Fijian Government officials. Mr C. A. Stinson, a member of the Legislative Council, said today that the proposals had been accepted in principle. If the proposals were formally approved by the Fijian Government and shareholders in New Zealand, the group would be given a two-year licence with a right to renewal and renegotiation at the end of the period. The group intends to start the service with a Grumman Mallar amphibian and a Piper Aztec land plane.

In addition to charter and agricultural work, the aircraft would be used for mercy missions, carried out »by the R.N.Z.A.F. until the flying boat base at Laucala Bay was closed recently.
