(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, April 12. The House of Lords heard tonight that its already sev-erely-curbed powers might face further whittling before the next General Election—due by 1971. Lord Longford, Government leader in the Upper Chamber, said the Labour Party’s last General Election manifesto implied that the House would be reformed during the present session. One phrase in the manifesto said it would do this to safeguard measures approved by the Commons from frustration by delay or defeat in the House of Lords. Lord Longford commented: “It would be strange if nothing was done by the present Government."
