RECEIVING CHARGE

Carpenter Guilty Carnegie Neilson, aged 44, a carpenter (Mr M. F. Hobbs) was found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday of receiving a skill saw, a nail pocket, a brace and bits set and a plane between August 25 and November 28 knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. He was remanded in custody by Mr Justice Macarthur for sentence on April 19. Neilson was found not guilty of receiving one skill saw, a hammer and two handsaws, other items listed in the charge and in all of a total value of £64 15s, the property of Frederick Pooley and others. The jury gave its verdict after a retirement of nearly four hours and a half during which it returned to the Court on one occasion for the reading of some passages of

evidence. Mr N. W. Williamson appeared for the Crown.
