Record Salt Output Aim
(N.Z. Press A,socia’son> BLENHEIM, April 11. A record 40,000 tons of salt is hoped for from New Zealand’s solar salt works at Lake Grassmere this year, a spokesman for Dominion Salt said today. Last year 34,000 tons were harvested, half of New Zealand’s annual demand. The works at. Lake Grassmere are virtually at full production this year, with an extra 60 acres of crystallising ponds.
No Free Milk.—The British Government may stop the free milk in schools scheme at secondary school level as part of its spending economy drive.—London, April 11.
