The Awapuni Gold Cup has been a good race for the imported Big Game horse. Gigantic. His sons. Terrific and Empyreus, dominated the finish of tiie Manawatu Bating Club’s weight-for-age race lift Stturdty. Gigantic is also sire of the 1965 winner. Royal Duty, wMch is at present being hacked on the beach before attempting to make a comeback.
Mannix gave Gigantic a good double for the day last Saturday when he won the Manawatu Sires* Produce Stakes. This assured Mannix of top ranking in the Free Handicap for two-year-olds.
