Th* Canterbury Boxing Association preildent and matchmaker (Mr B. C. Pocock) will know today If th* Emplr* feether.welght titleholder, J. O'Brien, of Glasgow, will defend his title against T. George, th* Hew Zealand champion, at Canterbury Court—for a price. The price Is a guaranteed Rurse of £2500 free of tex >r O'Brien, win or lose. George will get £lOOO, win or lose. Mr Pocock yesterday telephoned O’Brien's representative In London, Mr B. Huntman, who expressed Interest In the fight and asked to name his price, settled for the sum of £2500 "free of all encumbrances." B. Grant, the Empire light-weight title-holder, who lost his title to M. Santos, In Wellington last month, received £2OOO. Mr R. W. Grimmer, George’s trainer, told Mr Pocock last evening that George would be ready to fight for the title In two months.
