Flare-up On Border

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TEL AVIV, April 12. A new flare-up broke out yesterday on the SyriaIsraeli border south-east of Lake Tiberias, scene of pitched battles last Friday. An Israeli Army spokesman said in Tel Aviv that an Israeli tractor was shelled in the fields south of Tel Katzir. He said the tractor was ploughing the so-called “beetroot patch” where work had been in progress without interruption since Monday morning. Possession of the area was disputed last Friday. The spokesman said the shelling began just after midday from a Syrian outpost. The Spokesman said the Syrian fire was not returned and the shelling subsided after about half an hour.
