Upsurge Of Malaria
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, April 12. A United States Government health official has reported an alarming increase in malaria cases in the United States, traced to a Vietnam parasite giving a delayed infection to American servicemen. Dr. Hans O. Lobel, of the Communicable Disease Centre in Atlanta (Georgia), said 700 cases of malaria had been reported in the first three months of 1967. Most were American troops who had returned from Vietnam.
