AIRLINER CRASH

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ALGIERS, April 12. An Algerian Airways DC4 airliner ploughed into a mountain, deep in the Sahara desert last night, killing 35 of the 39 persons aboard.

The four-engined aircraft, on a routine weekly flight, crashed as it came into land at the remote desert tourist resort of Tammanrasset, about 200 miles south of Algiers. The first news of the disaster came from police officials at the nearby oasis town of Ouargla whose sole link with the outside world is by radio.!
