‘Avengers’ Guest Tonight
Jon Elsom, an actor from Christchurch, will appear in “The Avengers” on CHTV3 this evening in a story entitled “The See-through Man.”
He takes the part of assistant to a mad scientist, played by Roy Kinnear.
This will be Elsom’a first appearance on “The Avengers,” although last year he appeared in about 20 different television programmes in England.
He left Christchurch in 1959 on an acting scholarship to England and since that time had worked on stage and on television.
Another well-known programme in which he took a part last year was “The Troubleshooters,” which will be presented in New Zealand shortly. Jon Elsom’s mother, Mrs W. S. Elsom of Christ-
church, said that she was thrilled to hear her son was to appear in the programme tonight “The only thing wrong is that he is on the wrong side,” she said. “He always seems to get the part of a villain. I understand he comes to a sticky end.”
