FISHING LIMIT
Talks On Phasing (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 10. Japanese and New Zealand officials will meet in about two months’ time to discuss the phasing-out of Japanese fishing inside New Zealand’s 12-mile fishing limit. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today that discussions on a time for a meeting were at present going on between Japanese officials and New Zealand officials travelling with the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) on his present visit to Japan. New Zealand suggested the phasing out as an alternative to Japanese proposals to make a joint submission to the International Court of Justice on the legality of New Zealand’s 12-mile limit.
