Dr. Watt Dead
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON April 10. Dr. Michael Watt, DirectorGeneral of Health for 17 years, died in Wellington on Friday. He was 80. He graduated from Otago Medical School in 1912 and spent two years in practice before rejoining the school as a lecturer, in anatomy. In 1916 Dr. Watt joined the Health Department and helC the posts of Medical Officer of Health for Wellington and Director of the Division of Public Hygiene before he was appointed Director-General in 1931. He retired in 1947.
