BATTLE OF BRITAIN
Americans Not In Script (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, April 7. The Paramount film producer, Mr Harry Saltzman, has denied that the company withdrew from a film of the Battle of Britain because the script did not show Americans winning it. Mr Saltzman who made the remark in an interview published on March 7 in the London “Daily Mail,” said in a statement issued yesterday that his remarks were misleading. “At no time did Paramount ask for the introduction of American fighter-pilots or other Americans in'the story,” he said. “Any suggestion to that effect arose solely from a misunderstanding of Paramount’s position, which was that the personal side of the characters in the story should be developed,” said Mr Saltzman.
