New Deputy For Westmoreland
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) WASHINGTON, April 7. General Creighton W. Abrams, Deputy Army Chief of Staff, is being appointed deputy to General William Westmoreland, the American commander in Vietnam, the White House announced yesterday. Officials, while describing the appointment as an important one, denied that he was being groomed to replace General Westmoreland in the top command. The officials said there was no intention of replacing General Westmoreland in Vietnam.
