SEEKING PLAYERS

Advertised In Paper (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The coach of an Auckland lower grade Rugby team has offered employment to young Wellington players in a bid to strengthen his side. Mr A. W. Hart, coach of the Mount Roskill third grade team, advertised in a Wellington newspaper on Saturday for two carpenters or labourers who “must be under 21 years of age on 1/1/67, and strong, robust Rugby locks." Mr Hart said in Auckland last evening he would employ the players himself. He had had a few replies from Wellington players whom he would see this week. He felt there was nothing wrong in advertising for players, but emphasised that his club had “nothing to do” with his action. The chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr T. C. Morrison, said last evening that advertising for players was “completely undesirable.”

“The N.Z.R.U. would not approve of this type of advertisement being the accepted thing,’’ he said.
