Ball, of Auckland, has won the national teams-of-four contract bridge championships; Christchurch was second. This year’s tournament, which was played at Auckland tn two sessions on Saturday and two today, became a very close contest between Mr Bell’s team, consisting of players from the Northern Bridge Club, Auckland, and the Christchurch representatives, captained by Sir Joseph Ward.
