Kauris Saved
A price of £2BOO has been agreed for two giant kauris in Warkworth, north of Auckland, which were threatened with destruction, plus about 20 acres of surrounding land containing about 100 more kauris. Officers of the Kauri Bushmen’s Association have agreed to pay £2OOO for the two large trees, £2OO for the smaller trees and £3O an acre for the land. Donations to save the kauris now total more than £4OO.
