AT LEAST £140,000
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 9. The final figures for the intellectually handicapped children’s appeal yesterday are expected to exceed £140,000. Announcing this tonight, the national president of the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society, Dr. D. M. C. Beasley, said the appeal had proved a great success. The organiser, Mr T. R. Newdick said the amount raised would not be known until next Saturday. The appeal was the first by the society.
