TROTTING Fair Play Picked At Rangiora
Fair Play, which has finished third in his last two starts, should gain an overdue win in the Ripcord Handicap at the Cheviot Trotting Club’s annual meeting at Rangiora Raceway today. Fair Play will be bracketed with the three-year-old, Light View.
Fair Hay has not raced since January 21 when he finished third behind Lochaber at Washdyke. He has run on strongly at the end of most of his races and he should master the two miles better than most in the race.
Royal Court gained his first win since being trained by G. B. Noble when he was sue* cessful at the Taranaki meet-
ing last Saturday. He, too, has shown sound staying form and he should be capable of another win.
Moonlight Bay, King’s Guard, Hialea, Self Contained and Tatsy Brigade appeal most of the remainder. The T.A.B. double will be run on the Cheviot Cup and the Rangiora Handicap. There will be an on-course concession double run on the First and Second Spotswood Handicaps. Fair Weather is forecast and the track should be in good order.
