Lucy As Tourist?
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 7.
Mr R. L. G. Talbot (Govt., Ashburton) wants the American actress, Lucille Ball, to star in a television film publicising New Zealand tourist potential.
Mr Talbot’s idea was prompted by the television film “Lucy in London,” which was shown in New Zealand recently in which Lucille Ball toured the British capital.
Mr Talbot said today he intended to approach the Government, the Tourist and Publicity De-
partment, Air New Zealand and the Broadeasting Corporation with Ms proposal. Mr Talbot said he envisaged a television film along the lines of “Lucy in London.” “If New Zealand is to develop the terrifle potential of its tourist industry then we must sell our attractions to the world’s tourists with all the imagination we have. “What better way than the television screens of the world with the assistance of one of the most famous television stars,” he said.
