Inquiries should bs addressed to the Secretary, Tho ' Rod House, 25 Armagh street, : or preferably by telephone to 69-564 (Club), 559-478 (Secretary!), 516-627 (President). 3600 DEPARTMENT OP AGRICULTURE COMPULSORY VACCINATION OF FEMALE CALVES AGAINST BRUCELLOSIS Operative for owners of all dairy, beef and crossbred female calves since December 9, 1966, the Cattle Brucellosis Control Regulations 1966 require ; that all female calves must be vaccinated with Strain 19 Brucella vaccine, within the ages of 4 to 8 months tor dairy calves and 4 to 10 months tor beef and beef crossbred calves. , Neglect to vaccinate calves as , required by the regulations is an offence rendering an owner j liable to prosecution. Since vaccination is compulsory, own- ; er t of all female calves are to . apply without delay to their , local club or private veterinary , surgeon so that the work can , be arranged before the calves , reach the maximum legal age , for vaccination. The maximum , legal age for vaccinating . female calves Is at 8 months for . dairy breeds and at 10 months for beef breeds and crossbreds. Owners are asked to apply . now to their local veterinary surgeon for the vaccination of this season's female calves. If the local veterinary surgeon is not available to vaccinate 1 calves when it is required to be done, then Department of Agriculture vaccinating officers will be available. The regulations are administered by the Department of Agriculture.
