COACHING SCHOOL

Von Nida In Charge

WELLINGTON.

The Australian veteran golfer, N. G. von Nida, has been appointed director of a national coaching school to be held in Wellington at the end of the year. The appointment was announced at yesterday’s meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council.

Assisting with tuition will be the Wellington area professionals, B. Shelton (Heretaunga), R. McDonald (Manor Park), A. Guise (Hutt) and A. Smith (Shandon). They will each receive £lO a day for the 10 days of the school—from December 27 until January 10. The expenses of the school, estimated at about £l4OO, will be met by W. D. and H. O. Wills, Ltd. The school will cater for 20 young men between the ages of 16 and 22, who will be selected by the national selectors from nominations from district associations.

Two courses, Hutt and Shandon, are already at the disposal of the school.
