(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright ATHENS, April Violence broke ont yesterday on the campus of Salonika University between supporters and opponents of the newlyformed Greek Government of the Prime Minister, Mr Panayotis Kanellopoulos, the “New York Times” news service reported.
About 7000 students participated in the fighting, in which at least 19 persons were injured, three of them seriously. Police broke up the disturbances with teargas and smoke bombs. In Athens, where police placed a ban on outdoor demonstrations, police armoured trucks stood by at street corners.
A group of 150 Right-wing youths chanting slogans in the street in favour of Mr Kanellopoulos were ordered to disband.
Mr Kanellopoulos plans to seek a vote of confidence from Parliament on Wednesday. He needs the support of at least 50 votes outside his party, the National Radical Union, to gain a majority-
