SAIGON, April 7.
A force of 1200 launched a series of co-ordinated attacks yesterday around the provincial capital of Quang Tri, killing or wounding 250 Vietnamese soldiers and some Americans and freeing 250 Communist political prisoners.
The force, striking in separate groups of up to 500 each, breached minefields and barbed wire barricades to reach some of the six targets in the Quang Tri area. United States marines joined Vietnamese troopers in hand-to-hand fighting against the attackers.
