Vegetable And Fruit Prices

Vegetables were in heavy supply and met with a good demand from buyers at Christchurch produce markets yesterterday. Celery of both White and Utah varieties sold well at Ss to 10s a dozen bunches and 8s to 12s a dozen bunches, respectively. Kumeras from Gisborne and North Auckland also sold well at up to 40s a sack and up to 35s a case. A small shipment of Jamaican oranges will be sold today, and ortaniques and ugH fruit will be auctioned.
