Ashley Wins Contest Ashley has again won the Junior Cup, contested by the five sub-associ-ations affiliated to toe North Canterbury Minor Chicket Association. In the final points positions, Ashley (35 points) had a clear lead of 10 points from its closest rival. Banks Peninsula. Results of the 10 championship games played during the season were:— Ashley beat Banks Peninsula, first innings; Ashley beat Malvern, outright; Ashley beat Hurunul .outright; Ashley and Ellesmere, draw; Banks Peninsula beat Malvern, flrat Innings; Banks Peninsula beat Hurunul, outright; Banks Peninsula and Ellesmere, draw; Malvern beat .Hurunul, first innings; Malvern and Ellesmere, a draw; Hurunul beat Ellesmere, Drat Innings. Final points.—Ashley 35, Banki Peninsula 25, Malvern 13, Ellesmere 11, Hurunul 10.
French Victory.—France Just beat Britain 9-8 in a scrappy amateur Rugby League international on Sunday after leading 7-5 at half-time.
