Stripped At Airport (N.Z. Preet Aren—Copyright) LONDON, April 3. A blonde Swedish girl who was told to strip at London airport two weeks ago, will return home today after having accepted official apologies. The case almost caused a diplomatic incident between Britain and Sweden, and questions were raised in Parliament. The girl, Miss Barbro Eriksson, caused the storm when she told Swedish officials in London that she had been forced to strip to the waist by an official on arrival at Gatwick airport. No explanation was given. Miss Eriksson, who came to Britain on two weeks’ holiday, hopes to return to attend university.
