Vehicle Third Party Premiums Reduced

WELLINGTON, March 31.
Some premiums for statutory motor vehicle third party insurance would be reduced for the next licensing year starting on July 1, said the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) today.
The reductions include motor-cycles, power-cycles, motor-cars, station waggons, and rental cars. The new premiums were based on the recommendations of the Third Party Premiums Advisory Committee, whose chairman is the Commissioner of Transport. The new premiums—with previous premiums in brackets—are:— Class one: (A) motorcycles and (B) cars manufactured before January 1, 1919, £3 (£3 Us). Cbss two: power-cycles, 10s (12s). Class three: tractors, traction engines and “exempt” class A; B, or C Motor vehicles (other than mobile cranes and
! trailers), Ils. Class four: , motor-cars (other than those , manufactured before January 1, 1919) and station waggons, s £4 6s (£4 12s 6d). Class five: ■ goods service vehicles, £4 8s ' (£4 14s). Class six: public ■ taxi-cabs, £l6. ! Class seven: Omnibuses up to 30 seats, £23; over 30 seats, i £24. Class eight: service ■ coaches up to 10 seats, £10; 11 to 20 seats, £lB 10s; over - 20 seats, £24. Class nine: pri- • vate taxi-cabs, contract motor , vehicles or passenger trucks : up to 10 seats, £3; 11 to 20 ; seats, £3 10s; over 20 seats, ■ £4 10s. Class 10: trailers, 4s. , Class 11: rental cars, £2O • (£22). Class 12: miscell laneous group, £6.
