VISIT TO CHCH
Commonwealth Official The. Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretariat (Mr A. Smith) will visit Christchurch on April 14, during a six-day visit to New Zealand from April 10 to 16.
While he is in Christchurch Mr Smith will address a meeting of members of the Canterbury branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society and kindred societies. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said in Wellington on Thursday night that Mr Smith’s visit would give an opportunity for a review of the progress he and his staff had been able to make so far, and for an exchange of views on the direction of future activities in Commonwealth co-operation.
