Clergyman To Be Chairman (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, March 29. A Church of England clergyman, the Rev. Timothy Beaumont, aged 38, has been appointed the chairman of Britain’s Liberal Party. Mr Beaumont, who devotes his time to politics and publishing, succeeds Lord Byers, recently elected the party's leader in the House of Lords.
He has already been party treasurer and head of party organisation. After being a full-time vicar, he now has an honorary link with a London church.
