LOAN TO RHODESIA
£7.5 Million Raised
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SALISBURY, March 31. The Rhodesian Government today successfully raised a new three-year loan of £7,500,000 against - the issue of 5 per cent locally-registered stock. Lists were opened at 9 a.m. and closed immediately, fully subscribed. In London, the Treasury last night warned that anyone subscribing to the loan did so entirely at their own risk. “The present illegal regime in Rhodesia is not capable of incurring legal obligations on behalf of 'the Government of Southern Rhodesia,” the Treasury said. The loan will be used to pay for Government development projects and to finance iring debt. The Rhodesian Government has now raised five similar loans totalling £27 million since the declaration of independence 17 months ago-
